How much does a business website really cost?

A professional business website typically costs anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand dollars upfront with a traditional agency — then hosting, maintenance, updates and SEO often become separate, ongoing costs. Walker Internet Services rolls all of that into one monthly plan, so there's no big upfront bill and no guessing what next month's invoice will include.

Prefer to pay in full instead of monthly?

That's an option too. Once you approve the design, you can pay for your website in full as a one-time payment instead of a monthly plan — no ongoing commitment required. Hosting, maintenance, SEO and AEO can still be added afterward on a month-to-month basis if you'd like them, or handled elsewhere. Ask us about upfront pricing.

Upfront vs. Monthly

Why pay monthly instead of a big check up front?

Traditional Website Agency

$5,000–$15,000+ upfront
  • Hosting billed separately
  • Maintenance and updates billed separately (often hourly)
  • SEO usually a separate contract
  • Security and backups may not be included at all
  • Support often ends once the project is "done"

Many agencies work this way — not all. Always ask what's included before you sign.

Walker Internet Services

$179/mo, all-inclusive starter plan
  • Website design & build included
  • Hosting, SSL, security & backups included
  • Ongoing maintenance & updates included
  • SEO & AEO work that continues after launch
  • One invoice, one point of contact, direct support

Note: the plan above reflects our monthly model. If you'd rather pay the full amount upfront in one payment after approving your design, that's available too — just ask.

Why Pay Monthly

Why should I pay monthly for my website?

A website is infrastructure your business depends on — not a one-time purchase you finish and forget. Monthly plans keep it that way on purpose.

Lower upfront cost

You get a professional website without draining cash reserves on a single invoice.

Predictable budgeting

One consistent monthly line item instead of surprise invoices for updates or fixes.

Security stays monitored

Backups, SSL and security patching happen continuously, not "whenever you remember to call someone."

Updates are easy

Need new copy, a new page, or a seasonal promotion added? That's part of the plan, not a new project.

SEO & AEO can continue

Search and AI-answer visibility isn't a launch-day event — it's ongoing work that compounds over time.

Someone to call

You have a direct relationship with the people maintaining your site, not a ticket number.

Ownership & Cancellation

What happens if I cancel?

We believe pricing and policy should be as transparent as the work itself. Here is the general framework — the specific terms that apply to your account are provided in writing in your service agreement before you sign up, and should be reviewed as part of that agreement.

  • You may cancel your plan with notice as outlined in your service agreement.
  • Hosting, maintenance, SEO and AEO work provided by Walker Internet Services when the plan ends.
  • Ownership of your written content, images you provided, and business information remains yours.
  • Terms regarding the website files, custom code and design assets upon cancellation are specified in your agreement.
  • We'll tell you in advance what a transition looks like if you choose to leave.
Pricing Questions

Frequently asked pricing questions

Can I pay for my website upfront instead of monthly?
Yes. Our primary model is the monthly managed plan, because it bundles hosting, security and support that a website needs for its entire life — but if you'd rather pay in full as a one-time payment after you approve the design, that's available too, with no ongoing monthly commitment required. Contact us to talk through which option fits your business.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. As your business grows, you can move up to a plan with more SEO, AEO, e-commerce or development support. We'll talk through what makes sense before making any change.
What counts as a "content update"?
Text changes, blog posts, image swaps, adding a new sections, updating hours or staff info, and similar routine edits. Larger requests like a full new page or redesign are scoped separately and communicated in advance.
